SlateBreaker Optimizer Guide
Contest Modes
CASH
50/50s and double-ups. Optimizes for floor — safe, consistent projections. No stacking. No ownership penalty. Win by finishing in the top half.
TOURNAMENT (GPP)
Large-field GPPs. Optimizes for ceiling — stacking enabled, ownership penalty active. Differentiated lineups designed to win, not just cash.
SHOWDOWN
Single-game slates. One MVP (1.5× salary + points) and five FLEX spots. Max correlation — stack teammates, prioritize high-ceiling players.
The SLATEBREAKER Model
SLATEBREAKER
Our signature projection model powers every lineup — there’s nothing to configure. Instead of guessing how to weight data sources, we logged thousands of real player outcomes and built the model that measurably out-predicts the market’s own pricing: a 0.219 correlation to actual results versus 0.202 for the closing salary. It’s validated against real outcomes, not tuned by feel — and it runs automatically on every slate.
Field Models
Controls how ownership-heavy the simulated field is — affects win rate rankings across your lineup set.
CONTRARIAN
Simulates a chalk-heavy field. Rewards low-ownership, differentiated lineups. Best for large-field GPPs where fading the chalk is the path to a top finish.
BALANCED
Default setting. Simulates a realistic mix of chalk and contrarian plays. Good for most slates and contest types.
CHALK
Simulates a contrarian field. Rewards high-ownership plays. Best for smaller fields where the chalk is underowned relative to the field.
Recommended Workflow
01
Fetch data close to lock time
Lineup confirmations and Vegas lines are most accurate close to lock. Early lineups are built on incomplete data.
02
Check the Picks tab first
Review the top plays by position, the Stack of the Slate, and contrarian plays before running the optimizer. This gives you a feel for the slate.
03
Select your contest mode
Cash for 50/50s and double-ups. GPP for tournaments. Showdown for single-game slates.
04
Review the projections
The SLATEBREAKER model projects every hitter from salary and lineup order, validated against actual outcomes. Scan the Projections tab to see the values driving your lineups.
05
Set field model to Contrarian for large GPPs
In a 100k-person field, the chalk loses. Contrarian field model rewards differentiation.
06
Lock your anchors
In the Projections tab, click the lock icon on players you want in every lineup. Useful for stacking a high-implied team.
07
Run and review
Run the optimizer. Check lineup coverage — 80%+ is good. Review the Analysis tab to check exposure across your lineup set.
08
Export and enter
Export to CSV. Upload directly to FanDuel or DraftKings entry manager.
Sharp Notes
Lineup position matters. A lower-salary player in a premium spot outscores a higher-salary player buried deep.
Stack the team with the highest implied runs, not just the highest O/U. Both teams can score in a high-total game.
Ownership below 8% is where GPP edge lives. The optimizer's contrarian plays are filtered to this range.
The Showdown MVP multiplier means a 20-point game becomes 30. Pick a high-ceiling player, not just the highest projection.
Coverage above 80% means your lineup set is well-diversified. Below 50% usually means the pool is too small or exposure limits are too tight.
Refresh data 5–10 minutes before lock. Batting orders post late — a confirmed leadoff hitter is a dramatically different play than an unconfirmed one.
